The floor is lava
Walking into this cozy corner, it’s obvious that creativity lives here. The chair is currently functioning as a launchpad for clothes, tote bags, and possibly a mission to another galaxy (shout-out to the “Mission to Saturn” bag for setting the mood). Nearby, art supplies, drawings, and an impressively expressive family portrait are scattered across the floor, surrounded by a keyboard, a flipped stool, and a yoga ball that looks like it rolled in to offer support and then immediately gave up.
This space isn’t messy—it’s mid-adventure. It’s clear that a lot of life happens here: music, art, school projects, and probably a few snack breaks in between. It has all the elements of a creative zone, it just needs a little structure so the good stuff doesn’t get buried under unfolded laundry and runaway crayons.
The first step will be to sort through the mix of items and create some easy-to-maintain zones. Art supplies can have their own home base, the clothes can head back to their rightful spots, and the chair can return to its original role as a place to sit—not a part-time closet. We’ll tidy up without removing any of the fun or the freedom to create. After all, this isn’t about turning a lively room into a quiet one—it’s about making it easier to enjoy.
A few storage bins, some shelves, and maybe a system for in-progress art will go a long way here. The keyboard deserves a spot where it won’t get stepped on mid-sketch, and the yoga ball can either return to workouts or roll out with dignity. There’s no need for perfection—just enough order to keep the creativity flowing without the chaos creeping in.
When it’s all said and done, this space will still be full of personality—just a little more intentional. The projects will still happen, the drawings will still fill the floor, but the chair? It might actually get to do its job. And who knows—maybe the next mission to Saturn will launch from a nice, clean desk.
