Kitten Kingdom

Stepping into this spare bedroom, it’s clear that royalty has lived here—small, furry royalty with tiny toe beans and zero respect for boundaries. This space has been a full-on kitten kingdom, complete with tunnel forts, pillow piles, and what I can only assume was a snack bar of scattered kibble. The floor tells the tale of zoomies past, while the vacuum stands nearby like a brave knight who’s seen things.

There’s no shame in the current state—it’s what happens when love for animals takes priority over aesthetics (as it should). Every box, cushion, and blanket here has played a part in keeping kittens safe, happy, and delightfully chaotic. But now that the tiny rulers have graduated to bigger adventures, it’s time to reclaim the space for its next role—whether that’s a guest room, a home office, or simply a peaceful spot for a grown-up nap.

The good news? We’re not starting from scratch—we’re starting from a place full of heart. Under the clutter, there’s solid structure: storage shelves, usable floor space, and furniture just waiting to breathe again. With a little sorting and sanitizing (and maybe a lint roller or ten), this room will be ready to retire its kitten-care duties and settle into a new, more low-maintenance identity.

The plan: gather the scattered supplies, create zones for what stays, and rehome or donate anything no longer needed. Soft surfaces will get a deep clean, any lingering litter misadventures will be addressed, and the space will be transformed from cozy chaos to calm comfort. We might even keep one or two reminders of its feline past—because let’s be honest, this room has earned its stripes.

In the end, this isn’t about erasing the kitten chapter—it’s about building on it. The room will still have that lived-in warmth, just with fewer tumbleweeds of fur. Whether it becomes a quiet reading nook or a proper guest room, it’s going to be a space that serves its humans just as well as it served its kittens.
